Morgan Tuck Announces She’s Entering WNBA Draft
The UConn Huskies won their 4th NCAA Championship in a row and mere minutes later Morgan Tuck faced the question on everyone’s mind. Would she return to UConn next year or enter the draft? While celebrating on the victory stand with her teammates she seemed unsure of what to say and caught off guard when ESPN’s Holly Rowe popped the question. Breanna Stewart came to her rescue and said into the mic, “It’s a secret”. However, 24 hours later it wasn’t a secret anymore. Wednesday morning in a phone interview with ESPN Tuck revealed she was entering the draft and foregoing her last year of eligibility. Tuck had redshirted her sophmore year due to a knee injury. It’s hard to blame Tuck considering the limited amount of time an athlete has to make money with their body. A few female players now have left college early to enter the WNBA Draft, but it’s still few and far between. Tuck is expected to be an early first round draft pick along with her teammates Breanna Stewart and Moriah Jefferson. Perhaps for the fist time ever the first three picks will all be from the same college team. Tuck is sure to be a positive impact on any team that drafts her.
