Cyborg vs Lansberg Headlines UFC Fight Night 95

Cris Cyborg looks to add another name to her collection of vicious knockouts when she faces Lina “Elbow Princess” Lansberg on Saturday September 24th at UFC Fight Night 95 Brazil.

Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino fights in her home country of Brazil for only her second fight in the UFC. The 31 year old has agreed to fight at a catch weight of 140 pounds against stand up specialist Lina “Elbow Princess” Lansberg in a highly anticipated bout.
Cris Cyborg who holds an MMA record of 16-1 has to endure a brutal weight cut to reach 140 pounds whereas outside the UFC she fights in a 145 featherweight division in different organisations a division that does not exist for women in the UFC. Cyborg told mmafighting.com that on Monday she was 165 pounds which means she has to cut 25 pounds by Friday morning. Cyborgs last cut down to 140 pounds at UFC 198 in May had her reportedly in tears during the final stages of the brutal weight cut. Cyborg who is the former Strikeforce female featherweight champion and the current Invicta FC world featherweight champion defeated Leslie Smith by TKO in the first round at UFC 198 when she made her UFC debut in May. Out of Cyborgs last 16 MMA wins 14 came by knockout with her only professional loss in MMA occurring way back in 2005 against Erica Paes by submission in her first MMA bout. Her incredible streak of wins has led to people calling her the greatest womens MMA fighter of all time with a match between her and Ronda Rousey being talked about for what seems like forever.
Cyborgs opponent is by no means a pushover, Lina Lansberg is a very skilled and experienced Mauy Thai fighter holding a record of 37-11 in the sport with a 6-1 professional MMA record. Lansberg has a similar fighting style as Cyborg she likes to put pressure on her opponent and trade strikes without fear. Her clinch games is lethal she likes to wrap her opponent up and unleash devastating elbows which has led to her being nicknamed “Elbow Princess”. Lansberg has a stationary style she likes to stand in front of her opponent a strategy that could go against her versus the dangerous Cyborg. Lansberg’s only real hope is to pick her punches work her way into the clinch and do as much damage in the clinch as she can, she needs to come out and set the pace and put it on Cyborg straight away. Cyborgs tough weight cut could have an effect on her cardio so she needs to try and take advantage.
Odds makers aren’t given Lansberg much of a chance with her being a huge underdog at +600 while Cyborg is -1200
With both these fighters possessing incredible stand up skills it’s going to be one hell of a fight with them likely to meet in the middle of the octagon, stand toe to toe and bang it out until someone get knocked out.
