The couple's @SussexRoyal Instagram account announced: "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are pleased to announce they have named their first born child: Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor".

Both the Queen and Philip had on Wednesday been introduced to their latest great-grandson, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, by proud parents the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Harry, dressed in a light-grey suit, cradled baby Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor who was tucked up in the hand-finished shawl made by Nottingham company GH Hurt & Son, based in Chilwell.

Queen Elizabeth II celebrated her 93rd birthday on April 21, 2019, and just two weeks later, she welcomed the arrival of her eighth great-grandchild.

He shares a name with a character who is part of the Archie gang, along with a host of others - including Moose Mason, Betty Cooper and Jughead Jones - who have been on American news stands for years.

"It's magic, it's pretty awesome". The name Archie has Scottish and German roots, and it means "genuine and bold". Ms Doria Ragland was also present.

Uber, Lyft drivers on global strike just before Uber's IPO
Stack-Martinez said activists and drivers are monitoring Uber to see how the platform engages with the protests on Wednesday. Don Creery, another Uber driver, said the strike is "the culmination of years of pay being cut by constant rate reductions".

People on Twitter have already commented on her gorgeous look, not to mention the duchess's ability to pull the attractive ensemble together just days after the birth.

"I think that's a really nice tribute to Harry's grandfather".

Meghan and Harry broke with recent royal tradition by waiting two days before appearing together as a family, to the annoyance of some impatient fans. In comparison, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge chose to give their children traditional names, picking George for their firstborn, who is likely to one day be king.

Royal author Penny Junor said: "I would think the Duke of Edinburgh would be absolutely thrilled with that".

Meghan, the former star of the TV show "Suits", married Harry, the ex-soldier younger son of Prince Charles and Princess Diana, in May 2018. Hamill quickly commented on the name choice with a tongue-in-cheek tweet in which he implied they misunderstood his request to name the baby after him.
