Amber Alert issued for 5-year-old girl missing in Houston Texas Maleah Davis

Police said Davis' father and 2-year-old brother were also abducted but were later dropped off.

Darion Vence says that his stepdaughter, Maleah Davis, was taken by three unknown males in north Houston on Friday night.

Holbrook said the stepfather claimed he heard a "popping noise", like a popped tire, and pulled over to check on it.

Police say Vence was then hit on the head by one of the men and lost consciousness.

Vence reportedly remembers wandering a highway for hours with his son searching for help, but fell short, Holbrook said.

He then walked to a nearby hospital, where he received medical treatment and reported Maleah missing.

"We're hoping the public can give us any information about anybody who has seen Darion during that period of time because he doesn't really know where he was or what's going on there", Holbrook said.

The vehicle Vence was driving - a silver Nissan Altima that belongs to Maleah's mother - is also missing, Holbrook said.

According to Holbrook, Vence told detectives that he, Maleah and the 2-year-old were on their way to George Bush Intercontinental Airport Friday night to pick up Maleah's mother, who was flying in from MA.

Holbrook said investigators have not found any evidence, including security video or independent witnesses, to corroborate the stepfather's story.

"This week she was sick, too". They handed out at least 100 missing person flyers throughout the Sugar Land area in Houston, Sunday. Investigators have been interviewing family members throughout the morning. She had just purchased it at a dealership. Holbrook said that the Altima was spotted at an intersection in Sugar Land around 3 p.m. Saturday. It has not been seen since.

Police say her stepfather, Darion Vence, was hit in the back of the head and was in and out of consciousness for nearly 24 hours.

Authorities have not found any surveillance footage or witness accounts that corroborate Vence's version of events. "I would love to know more about that".

Detective Mark Holbrook explained what he believed happened next at a press conference on May 4. I'd love to know where this vehicle is because somebody drove it. "She has a lovely energy and we just want to find her at this point".

Maleah was last seen wearing a light blue zip jacket, blue jeans and gray, white and pink sneakers.

Those who have information on Maleah's kidnappers or whereabouts are being urged to get in touch with HPD Homicide at 713-308-3600 or at 713-222-TIPS.
