Xiaomi launches Redmi Note 7 and Redmi 7 in Nigeria

Instead of the MediaTek Helio P22, the new Redmi 7 sports the Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 SoC. The dual-rear camera setup has a 12-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary depth sensor. Mostly aimed at the younger public, the Redmi Y3 comes with a new Aura Prism design that adds subtle curves, dual Gorilla Glass 5 layers for both display and back case, plus a dual tone gradient with Prime Black, Elegant Blue and Bold Red color options on the back.

Talking about the front camera, Redmi Y3 will come with a 32-MP selfie shooter with Samsung's ISOCELL Bright GD1 image sensor for high resolution images.

The phone packs a 4,000mAh battery.

The Redmi Y3 is further kept alive a decent 4000mAh battery and the device runs on Xiaomi's MIUI 10, which is based on Google's latest Android 9.0 Pie. The Redmi 7 comes as the successor to the Redmi 6 that was launched previous year. With the Redmi 7, Xiaomi is back to business offering the best specifications in the respective price range.

We have been hearing about the upcoming flagship smartphone from Redmi, a Xiaomi sub-brand that recently started operating independently. The report also said it will have a 32MP selfie camera and a 48MP+8MP+13MP triple camera setup.

We didn't have a lot of time to check out this phone's cameras, but we did manage to try the palm shutter gesture to take selfies from a distance.

As for the pricing, the Redmi Y3 is priced at Rs 9,999 for the 3GB+32GB variant and the larger 4GB+64GB of the Y3 is priced at Rs 11,999.

On the other side, the Redmi 7 features a front-facing camera of 8-megapixel. The smartphone will go on sale on April 29, 2019.

The Redmi 7 variants include 2GB RAM + 32GB storage and 3GB RAM + 32GB storage. Airtel users will get more than 1,120GB 4G data and unlimited calling on the purchase of the device. As for authentication, the Redmi Y3 features a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and the company had also introduced new AI 360-degree face unlock with the Redmi Y3. The smartphones boots on Android 9.0 based MiUi 10. The smartphone will be available from April 30 onwards on Amazon.in, Mi.com, Mi Home, Mi Stores and Mi prefered retail partners.
