A third child, Sebastian Omar Martinez, 13, drowned late on Saturday when he fell into a drainage ditch fill with flash floodwaters near Monroe, Louisiana, said Deputy Glenn Springfield of the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office. "Take cover now", the NWS office said. Severe storms crossing a big swath of the South, including parts of Louisiana and MS, have knocked out power to thousands and caused some flash flooding.

The death was in Monroe County, Mississippi Emergency Management Agency Director Greg Michel said.

"It looks like a storm came up through Louisiana and into MS and exploded in Monroe County", Monroe County Sheriff Cecil Cantrell said.

The biggest threat with the storms will be damaging winds with the possibility of a tornado. Dozens of homes in Hamilton, Mississippi, have been completely leveled. "We are just a mess".
