"Passengers always ask what type of plane they will fly as they have lost trust and confidence in the Max 8 jet", Ikhsan Rosan, a spokesperson for the airline, told The Associated Press.

"We had a productive session this past Saturday and plan to reach all current and many future Max operators and their home regulators", Boeing said in the statement.

"Right now we're in wait-and-see mode to see what Boeing comes up with", said Capt. Jason Goldberg, spokesman for the APA, part of a delegation of airline safety experts and pilots set to test the upgrade.

American Airlines is extending flight cancellations for its 737 Max aircraft until April 24 as it waits for information from United States authorities about when service can resume, according to a statement on the airline's website.

The airline said the simulator had been up and running since January.

On Saturday, Boeing and the Federal Aviation Administration said they are nearing completion of a long-awaited software and training overhaul for the Max's flight control systems.

Boeing and the Federal Aviation Administration, which must approve the software fix and new training, are under US and global scrutiny since the MAX suffered a second deadly crash involving Ethiopian Airlines in Addis Ababa on March 10, which led to a worldwide grounding of the fleet.

The Lakers had only missed the playoffs five times in their first 55 seasons of existence before this current drought. The latter date is when the Lakers can sign another superstar to pair with LeBron James , which is all that matters.

It remained unclear whether the software upgrade, called "design changes" by the FAA, will resolve concerns stemming from the ongoing investigation into the March 10 Ethiopian Airlines crash, which killed all 157 on board.

Ari Ashkara, president and CEO of Garuda was quoted by the media as saying: "We have sent the letter to (Kevin) McAllister (president and CEO of Boeing Company) that we are cancelling the 49 units on order".

It did so after new information became available on the Ethiopian crash that indicated similarities with the Lion Air accident.

Pilots and training officials from Southwest Airlines, American Airlines and United Airlines met with Boeing officials Saturday to review the software changes in the Seattle area, where the model is assembled, according to multiple airline sources.

The US official said planned changes included 15 minutes of training to help pilots deactivate the anti-stall system known as MCAS in the event of faulty sensor data or other issues.

"It gives a message of stalling and it takes immediate action which is faster than the action which pilots were briefed to take by Boeing", said Yohannes, himself a pilot with over 30 years of experience, including flying Boeing's 777 and 787.

On Wednesday, the US Justice Department has summoned Boeing officials over safety and certification procedures of 737 Max planes.
