If the storm looks like it's going to become a little more intense then I may have to raise those top numbers but if the storm looks like we'll keep moving along I'll lower the top number closer to the four-inch amount. Most of the accumulating snow down there will be completed by noon or so. It should taper off for the whole state around 10 a.m.
Throughout the region, even where we expect more than a couple inches of snowfall, temperatures are predicted to be only marginally cold enough for accumulation.
The exact track and timing of the storm will determine snowfall totals, but Long Island is now expected to see 3-6 inches across much of Nassau and Suffolk.
Wichita public works director Alan King said Friday that all 60 snowplows will be prepared to go into service on city streets, where they would also spread sand and salt. Temperatures are in the middle 30s to near 40 degrees. Snow will be a mixed bag of sleet and rain over Cape Cod, especially the south side and the Islands.
The National Weather Service predicts the snow will likely start falling in Wichita after 9 p.m. Saturday, and could be heavy at times before turning to patchy blowing snow after midnight.

On our winter storm impact scale, this storm rates as a Category 1 "nuisance" storm for the immediate area - within a one-county radius of Washington, except for northern Montgomery County, where it rates as a Category 2 "disruptive" storm. For now, the best chance is along and to north and west of Harrisburg.
