Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone warned his side still have plenty to do after beating Juventus 2-0 in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.

Five minutes later, Diego Godin put the game to bed by firing home a shot from a tight angle that took a deflection off Ronaldo.

Atletico substitute Alvaro Morata had a goal ruled out against his former club, while German referee Felix Zwayer also reversed a first-half penalty decision for the Spanish club after consulting with the video assistant referee (VAR).

Atletico had most of the big chances on the night, with Diego Costa missing a sitter and Antoine Griezmann being spectacularly denied by Wojciech Szczesny early in the second-half.

Atletico Madrid fell to Real Madrid in 2014 and 2016.

Morata joined Atletico from Chelsea in January on an 18 month-loan deal, with some supporters at the Wanda Metropolitano having protested against the idea, but coach Diego Simeone stood firm in his wish to bring the Spain worldwide back to his boyhood club.

Last month Meng, who is the daughter of the Huawei founder, was charged with wire fraud that violated USA sanctions on Iran. Huawei Chief Financial Officer Meng Wanzhou was arrested in Canada in December and faces possible extradition to the US.

But Ronaldo simply couldn't resist winding up the Atletico fans a bit later on after receiving such a hostile reception in the Wanda.

Ronaldo responded to their taunts during the game as he held up five fingers to the crowd, signifying the five Champions League titles he has won down the years, compared to Atleti's none.

Dybala admitted he compares current team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo to Argentinian forward Lionel Messi, having played with both.

"He has scored two goals that have been cancelled".

Juventus will bid to overturn a two-goal deficit in the return leg in Turin on March 12.

We'll need a ideal game to get through.
