Manchester United: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer 'sure' Alex Sanchez form will improve

Martial and Lingard could return for United against Liverpool

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has given Manchester United momentum thanks to his tactical acumen and past links to the club, and it should give him the manager's job on a permanent basis, the English Premier League team's former great Ryan Giggs has said.

The Sunday World is reporting that Solskjaer had a three-hour meal in an Italian restaurant with Woodward after a ceremony marking the anniversary of the Munich air crash of 1958.

But Solskjaer said: "He's a man of 30, but he can still play for many, many years".

Sanchez, 30, is in line for an increased role over the next couple of weeks due to the absence of Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial, both of whom have been sidelined through injury.

"These type of players were very important for Arsenal, because that's where they take you to focus, after Alexis, Arsenal tried to sign another player like that, but he was not given, so he could go back to Arsenal". I am used to playing and have had to adapt to playing 20 minutes and training at home to be physically right. "But within the group, there was that feeling that you were in the team, then out".

"I believe in what I am".

The Frenchman made a goal for Ander Herrera before scoring one himself in an impressive 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge just six days after seeing red during the Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain. Solskjaer realised that it would be far more effective to play positively, with midfielders having the freedom to get forward without worrying about defensive duties.

"The players have had this little setback with the PSG game, maybe a reality check".

"We've changed manager and I've started only two matches".

"There's quite a few heads there where their pride has been hurt so I'm sure they'll bounce back on Monday".

"It turned out the other way round but the FA Cup final is something we want to go to".

Speaking to ADN, the Ajax director of football said: "I have a lot of respect for Alexis because he did extremely well at Arsenal".
