The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, will become patron of four charities, Kensington Palace has announced.

The Duchess of Sussex's royal patronages have been announced and they include two organisations that the Queen once looked over.

The statement continued: 'Her Majesty The Queen has passed on two patronages to The Duchess of Sussex - The National Theatre and The Association of Commonwealth Universities. According to the palace, "Her Royal Highness is a strong advocate of accessible education". Her growing baby bump was on full display as she greeted members of the women's charity.

'Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex will become Patron of four organisations that reflect the causes and issues with which she has always been associated including the arts, access to education, support for women and animal welfare, ' the Palace said in a statement.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been spending much of the time since their May 2018 nuptials on the road, jet-setting everywhere from Fiji to Australia to New Zealand.

On Wednesday, The National Theatre accidentally let some important Meghan Markle news slip. Meanwhile, it's no surprise that Meghan, a vocal feminist, chose an organization focused on helping women regain the skills and confidence to find jobs after unemployment.

"Over the a year ago, Her Royal Highness has held meetings and conducted private visits with each of these organisations", the Palace said. Speaking to HELLO!'s royal correspondent Emily Nash, Marina explained: "It's amusing, she said previous year, someone was talking about confidence and we asked, 'how do you manage with confidence when you're feeling shy?' And she said, 'I'm about to take my big role, happening now".

Mayhew is an animal welfare charity which helps cats and dogs through community initiatives and veterinary care.

The couple are awaiting renovations to be completed on their new home, "Apartment 1" at Kensington Palace - technically a wing of the palace with 21 rooms and adjoining doors to "Apartment 1A" (which belongs to Will and Kate).
