NYPD seeks couple that dropped engagement ring in subway grate

Police hunting couple who lost engagement ring in Times Square

The couple left without passing on contact

Police in New York City are searching for a man and woman who lost an engagement ring down a drain during a proposal that took a disastrous turn.

Just after the so-far-unidentified man proposed in Times Square, NYPD said, he dropped his now-fiancee's ring into a sidewalk grate.

Police posted more photos of the couple on Sunday before announcing about an hour later that they finally found the duo.

Although the couple gave up on retrieving the diamond-encrusted jewelry, the NYPD's special operations unit were on the case.

Unfortunately for the couple, the NYPD does not have the couple's details, therefore it can't reunite them with the ring.

Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra are officially married!
The couple are due to have a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony on Sunday and host a reception in New Delhi next week. In the pictures, one can all the members of Jonas family and Chopra family dressed in colour coutures.

Fingers crossed that they track down the right guy - and that he hasn't bought another one in the meantime.

The police force said that it wanted to return the ring "to the happy couple" and asked the public to help find the unlucky pair.

An engagement ring recovered by the NYPD below a Times Square utility grate.

"I am licensed to practice as a Proposal Location Judge and I would rate this one as a two in regards to kneeling over a grate", another user said. The (now) happy couple is back in their home country, but thanks to your retweets they heard we were looking for them!
