Pedro has welcomed news of N'Golo Kante penning a new deal with Chelsea.

The France global, signed from Leicester in the summer of 2016, has been an ever-present in the league for Maurizio Sarri's side this season.

After being instrumental in Leicester City's shock 2015-16 Premier League title success, he was subsequently snapped up by Chelsea and has become a key figure at Stamford Bridge.

"I'm happy to extend my time with Chelsea, it has been two lovely years and I wish for more to come", the popular Frenchman told the club's official website. 'Since I came, I completely improved as a player, challenged myself and got some awards I never thought about. Back in September, the Chelsea midfielder spent his Saturday night with an Arsenal fan watching the Match of the Day and in July, Kante seemed too shy to ask to lift France's World Cup trophy after they beat Croatia.

Roy Hodgson accepts his squad is full of players who could make the step up, but thinks the Eagles can keep them happy.

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri was pleased that the club had tied down the influential Kante to a new long term deal.

"I went, fundamentally, to be with Lukaku, to feel him, to see his situation, his injury", Mourinho told reporters. He also stayed, no national team, they also let him stay in spite of playing 90 mins against Manchester City.

"I think we can provide a lot, I don't underrate ourselves to the extent that I am being encouraged to constantly talk about the top four or five clubs".

'It's a bit hard to really go for a couple of players that they are a little bit more open to injures and then they play one or two matches.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho believes his team can break into the Premier League's top four before the end of the year despite languishing in eighth place, seven points off the Champions League qualification spots. "We have to make sure we don't lose the ball in our half; they are unsafe in those situations".
