Rockets and Carmelo Anthony 'discussing' veteran's status going forward this season

It Sure Sounds Like the Rockets Realize Signing Carmelo Anthony Was a Huge Mistake

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski Has Bombshell Carmelo Anthony News

Marc Stein of the New York Times reports that the 16-year veteran's time with the Houston Rockets is ending.

The former Knicks All-Star has averaged just 13.4 points and 5.4 rebounds per game off the bench for the Rockets this season.

However, ESPN reported that players and coaches think Anthony has played his last game in Houston as he isn't expected to make the trip with the team when they visit the Denver Nuggets.

Morey said that it's "his job" to figure out how to get the team going, but that he's seen signs recently that things will soon turn around.

The Hawks and Anthony reached a buyout agreement, leading to his deal with the Rockets.

Trump Begins Paris Visit With Attack on France’s Emmanuel Macron
Trump's official mission on the trip is to participate in ceremonies marking the 100th anniversary of the end of World War One . Trump and Macron's early relationship was marked by kisses, frequent meetings and marathon power handshakes.

In other words, Anthony may well have already played his final game for Houston. "That's a hindrance ... and we've got to fix that".

Rockets star James Harden said he didn't have enough information to comment about Anthony's situation, while Chris Paul, who along with Harden helped recruit Anthony over the summer, praised his longtime friend but was vague about Anthony's future with the Rockets.

The Rockets are off to a 4-7 start, and Anthony is playing at a career-worst efficiency rate. I don't know what's being said or whatnot, but Melo's been great, working hard every day. That's me saying that and knowing that.

The Lakers haven't had a good start defensively to the season and adding Anthony would only exacerbate their issues. It's unfair that there's all this speculation on just one player. "Like I said, we'll see what happens".
