At last, we have our first glimpse of Disney's live-action remake of its 1992 animated classic Aladdin.
The teaser, which you can check out above, features a fair amount of wide establishing shots, which take audiences into the world of Agrabah.
On Wednesday, Big Willy went to Instagram with the new Disney flick's first poster. People love Aladdin, and while I'm sure there will be some additions and some alterations, overall the new movie will likely bear a strong resemblance to the animated original.
Paul Pogba: I don't deserve to win the Ballon d'Or
The victor of the prestigious Ballon d'Or organised by France Football magazine will be announced on December 3. Atletico Madrid attacker Antoine Griezmann says the Ballon d'Or should go to a French player this year.
Obviously, Aladdin is a high-profile project for the studio.
Massoud, who appeared in Amazon's "Jack Ryan" series, was cast in the role in July 2017. The film adds two new characters not previously seen in the animated version: Dalia (Nasim Pedrad), Princess Jasmine's loyal handmaiden and confidante, and Prince Anders (Billy Magnussen), one of Jasmine's suitors.
Ritchie and co have been keeping this film strictly under wraps, as we haven't seen or heard a thing even though it finished up its principal photography back in January already (plus some extra reshoots in August). Fans will be relieved to know animal sidekicks Abu, Iago and Rajah are expected to be in the movie.
Opening May 24th 2019, Aladdin will be followed by another live-action Disney remake in July the same year as Jon Favreau is set to unleash Lion King.
