McGregor (21-4) suffered a fourth-round submission loss to Nurmagomedov (27-0) at UFC 229 last weekend in Las Vegas.

No one bothered him as he zipped up his signature K.N. hoodie with his nickname, "The Eagle", on the back and put on his black UFC backpack.

McGregor had called Nurmagomedov, who does not drink alcohol because of his Muslim faith, "backwards" because he would not share his Proper Twelve whiskey with him, had branded his father a "quivering coward" and spoke negatively about Dagestan, Khabib's homeland.

He nearly seemed surprised when someone asked for his picture near his gate before he returned to being an inconspicuous traveler waiting for his flight to board.

The original footage reviewed by the NSAC seemingly made McGregor look like the victim but upon subsequent examination of different camera angles of the incident, it's been chose to file complaints against both men involved in the main event.

Nurmagomedov's $2 million purse now is being withheld by the Nevada State Athletic Commission while an investigation takes place, and sanctions could come against Nurmagomedov and McGregor this week.

Diaz recently claimed he has no interest in a third McGregor fight, saying he had "other s*** to do", but the right money could make him think otherwise.

The build up and aftermath of the fight was dominated by McGregor and Khabib's rivalry and disgusting behaviour but on Saturday night it was an excellent and compelling fight and it's a shame it won't be remembered for that.

Having made McGregor tap out, Nurmagomedov turned his attention outside the octagon, leaping out of the cage toward the McGregor's stablemate Dillon Danis and igniting a melee. "So the sanctions against Khabib will be tougher than the UFC".

McGregor's rivalry with Nurmagomedov was sparked when the Russian was seen on video slapping McGregor's teammate Artem Lobov in April, which led to McGregor attacking a bus full of UFC athletes and staff.

Based on what happened after the fight, a rematch between these two fighters would likely do huge PPV numbers.

"If you want Khabib", said Rockhold, a former UFC middleweight champion, "he'll want a record-breaking number".

"The Nevada Athletic Commission pulled footage from us and there's an investigation going on", UFC President Dana White said at a post-fight press conference, as transcribed by SB Nation's Bloody Elbow blog. "I didn't see Khabib jumping over the cage like that". The only one getting hurt in this thing now is Khabib. "I definitely know I could beat him the only catch is to try and get down to 155 pounds".
