Microsoft Launcher 5.0 for Android brings new Feed UI, Timeline support, and more

NVIDIA is slowly but surely getting its next-gen GeForce RTX graphics cards into the hands of gamers, with Microsoft delivering some great news in the form of Windows 10 October Update and its ray tracing/DXR features. It'll become more widely available October 9, according to ZDNet.

Microsoft just released the October 2018 Update for Windows 10.

This update is another move by Microsoft to position Android devices as the flawless mobile companions to Windows 10 desktops and laptops.

As the roll-out is happening in phases, once it is available for your PC, all you need to do is to go to Settings- Update & Security- Windows Update and check for updates. That will prevent Windows Update driver installs and restart notifications while you're playing, at last giving you an interruption-free experience. Microsoft says it will make the update available to PCs when they are ready for it. This is similar to how it rolled out the previous major Windows update and used Machine Learning to optimise the task.

Lester then limited the damage by striking out Story and Matt Holliday with LeMahieu on third. Game 3 will be held in either Chicago or Denver, based on who wins the Wild Card game.

Microsoft this week kicked off the Windows 10 1809 rollout, and now some users have found the update is wiping important files, including photos and music, reports MSPoweruser. The first thing that users are likely to notice is support for a dark theme to use with File Explorer.

Search previews now also include apps, documents, people, and more, allowing users to quickly access information to recent files and web results.

Aside from DXR, the Windows 10 October Update also packs other features. Microsoft has now brought in the Your Phone app for Windows that means you can access and send texts, see photos and more from Android devices. Of course you can use Ctrl+V in the same way, but Windows+V displays a new panel, powered by Windows Timeline. Each game will use ray tracing differently, with Tomb Raider adding more realistic shadows, Battlefield 5 deploying ray traced reflections, and Metro Exodus using ray tracing for improved ambient occlusion and global illumination to create more natural lighting.

The update is now available for Windows Insiders and will be released to the public later. When the tool get to the actual update phase, you'll get a progress indicator, but no ETA. You're now able to use it with a digital pen thanks to the latest update.
