That may not be soon enough to help the Steelers salvage their season. Pittsburgh's total of 19 rushing yards Sunday night in a 26-14 home loss to the rival Ravens were its fewest in a game since 1970 (per ESPN). After no contact with the team during their first four weeks of the season, plenty of players have openly criticized Bell's decisions.
The running game has been inconsistent at best.
In Bell's absence, the team has gone 1-2-1 while erstwhile backup running back James Conner has followed a strong Week 1 showing with notably less effective performances.
What a three weeks it's been.
Connor also has 18 receptions for 164 yards. One of the many problems, however, is that Bell can not negotiate a new deal, which makes him harder to trade to another team and creates major problems for the Steelers and Bell to make amends.
Raj Kapoor’s wife, Krishna Raj passes away at 87
Rishi Kapoor couldn't attend his mother's funeral as he recently took off for US to undergo a medical treatment. The Kapoor family respectfully carried the mortal remains of Krishna Raj Kapoor to the ambulance.
"It sucks having to sit out football", Bell said from Florida on Monday. I think the biggest thing for me now is my mental is a lot stronger. I want to win games and the playoffs. I'm dong it for guys behind me or guys who don't understand what's going on in the business of football. "Knowing my worth and knowing I can tear a ligament or get surgery at any time, I knew I couldn't play 16 games with 400 or more touches".
If Bell had his way, though, he'd return to Pittsburgh on a long-term contract. Bell went on to give Fowler a timeline for his return, as the all-world running back is expected to report by Week 7, the Steelers' bye week. That wasn't enough when Todd Gurley and David Johnson received between $31-45 million in guarantees.
Bell was selected for his third Pro Bowl and got his second All-Pro nod in 2017 after leading the National Football League with 321 carries and totaling 1,291 yards and nine touchdowns.
The move to end the holdout comes at an odd time for Bell, as Seahawks safety Earl Thomas was forced to miss the rest of the season after suffering a broken leg in Sunday's game. And though they have reportedly starting shopping the 2013 second-round draft pick, the asking price has been steep - a second-round pick and a player.
