Numerous White House officials, as well as Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani, already have weighed in to blast the former aide for her publicity tour - which has included the release of a separate recording of Chief of Staff Kelly firing her in the Situation Room.
NBC's "Today" program on Monday (Aug 13) played the brief recording, in which Trump claims to have had no knowledge that she was sacked and expresses regret at the news.
"When Gen. Kelly came on board he told me she was a loser & nothing but problems", Trump wrote.
"You know they run a big operation, but I didn't know it", Trump says.
"The president also said he realize it's "'not presidential'" to slam her on Twitter, but said Twitter is a modern form of communication, and he knows the media will do everything possible to make her look legitimate.
Trump ridiculed the mainstream media for taking her seriously.
The former Apprentice contestant has been on the warpath ever since she was forced out, and the level of damage she might do to the Trump administration, armed with appear to be several secret recordings, remains to be seen.
"He absolutely has an issue with the truth, and sometimes he battles with reality", she said of Trump.
Security Experts, Trump Allies Alarmed By Omarosa Recordings
Omarosa claims to have multiple recordings of her time in the White House , but numerous claims she has made are unverifiable. And, he adds, she should have been more loyal to the president because " Donald Trump made her".
Trump has also praised her as a beacon of progress on the issues she worked on and said she is a "star".
"There is a complete organization between the two of them", Manigault Newman said of Trump and Kelly.
Another tense moment occurred when Guthrie asked Manigault Newman about an alleged tape she claims she has of Trump using the N-word on The Apprentice. She also released an audio recording of the conversation she had with John Kelly when he fired her. In a tell-all interview with NBC's Meet the Press, she spoke in dramatic terms about the White House's difficulties with race, honesty and loyalty, at the same time that President Donald Trump is reckoning again with criticism of his equivocal response one year ago to violence at a white-supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.
In her interview Sunday, Newman said she shared the audio of the meeting to "protect" herself from disparaging reports about her departure that she said were untrue.
'Right the very idea that a staff member, a former staff member, would go into the situation room and attempt to record someone else shows a complete disregard for national security, ' he said. And then he capped it all off by pointing to the many great things she had set about him previously.
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the latest recording.
The Situation Room is a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility, or SCIF, where the nation's most consequential foreign policy decisions are made, and staff are not permitted to bring in cellphones or other recording devices. They don't walk in and say to the president, "So and so leaked something", or "So and so is fighting with this one in the White House".
Asked if she had broken the law, he replied: "She's certainly violating national security regulations, which I think have the force of law". Now, Donald Trump is firing back in a series of tweets.
