India were struggling on 15 for three when heavy rain disrupted play for the third time on Friday after the entire first day of the test was lost to the wet weather.

Brief Scores: India 11/2 (Lokesh Rahul 8, Cheteshwar Pujara 1 not out; James Anderson 2-6) vs England.

England bowled India all out for 107 in its first innings on a rain-interrupted second day. It left Pujara stranded as Ollie Pope, presented with his Test cap by Alec Stewart in the morning, started his debut with a simple run out.

Virat Kohli's mistake led to Cheteshwar Pujara being run out.

India captain Virat Kohli may field the same playing XI for two consecutive Test matches for the first time since he took over as captain in the longer formats in 2014.

Anderson, who had generated movement off the seam as well as an impressive amount through the air, finished off the Indians - and secured his five wicket performance - by removing Ishant Sharma.

The trade disputes between the U.S. and China have intensified lately, which can potentially escalate to a full-fledged trade war. Beijing sent another warning shot to Washington on Thursday, with its state media accusing the USA of "mobster mentality".

Anderson's new ball partner Stuart Broad then joined the party with the wicket of Ashwin, who looked good during his 38-ball stay, that also included four fearless hits to the fence.

After rain meant there was no play on Thursday, Anderson struck with the fifth ball of the match when Murali Vijay, aiming legside, was undone by late outswing and bowled for a duck.

"We exploit those conditions as well as anyone in the world". Cricket expert Ayaz Memon and Rohan Gavaskar discuss whether India should have gone with an extra fast bowler seeing the conditions instead of spinner Kuldeep Yadav.

He was selected in the India U-19 squad for the Youth Test-series against Sri Lanka and he ended up claiming a wicket in his first over of that match.

Batsman Pujara was brought in for Shikhar Dhawan.

Paceman Chris Woakes comes in for Ben Stokes, who is the subject of a criminal trial in Bristol this week, meaning Moeen Ali missed out again.
