Was ABC Right to Cancel 'Roseanne'? How to Have Your Voice Heard

Roseanne Barr Apologizes To 'Roseanne' Cast And Crew, Blames Ambien

'Roseanne' controversy rages on: Donald Trump tweets, Ambien rejects star's blame claim

Finally, Arnold, who married Barr in 1990 and split from her in 1994, concluded, "It has been 24 years, so I don't know that I know who Roseanne is".

Barr was resoundingly condemned Tuesday, including from many who helped make her show successful.

"I don't know anything about it", he told the news outlet. It was her undoing - ABC's abrupt cancellation of her revived show came Tuesday after she called Valerie Jarrett, senior adviser to former President Obama, a cross between the "muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes". "While all pharmaceutical treatments have side effects, racism is not a known side effect of any Sanofi medication", wrote the company on Twitter.

CEO of Disney, ABC's parent, Robert Iger added, "There was only one thing to do there, and that was the right thing".

She urged people not to defend her and said of her Jarrett tweet that she was "ambien tweeting" at 2 a.m. "And so I felt that we needed to take into account what Jemele and other people at ESPN were feeling in this time, and that resulted in us not taking action on the tweet that she put out".

From Channing Dungey, President of ABC Entertainment: "Roseanne's Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have chose to cancel her show".

Barr, who is no stranger to posting conspiracy theories, drew fierce criticism for appearing to affirm the tweet, which has only been reported on as a conspiracy theory rather than fact.

It tweeted that maybe the audience would prefer one of its own shows instead.

Ambien Responds to Roseanne: 'Racism Is Not a Known Side Effect'
Please don't start all of that boycott abc stuff-I'm not a censor and they have the right to do what they wish. When one fan tweeted that Fox should pick up Roseanne, Barr spoke out.

She also blamed the inflammatory post on sleeping pills, saying she had been "ambien tweeting".

Barr's other TV daughter Lecy Goranson said that while she was "devastated" by Roseanne's cancellation, "more devastating are the effects of hate speech and racism on individuals and society. I hope the good work done is not totally eclipsed by those abhorrent and offensive comments, and that Roseanne seeks the help she so clearly needs".

Netflix's One Day At A Time is a reimagining of the Norman Lear-produced series that aired on CBS from 1975 to 1984.

Barr also got a message of support from Katie Hopkins.

But then she deleted the tweet and issued an apology to Jarrett and "all Americans".

Ironically, Roseanne's tweets were out of character with her rebooted show.

The Oscar-winning documentarian shared a video on his Facebook and Twitter profiles showing him as a guest alongside Trump on The Roseanne Show, a short-lived talk show from the late 90s.
